Our Story

It all started with a competitive game of pickleball.

What began as a casual invite from a mutual friend quickly turned into something neither one of us expected. As the only two singles in the group, we teamed up for doubles and quickly discovered how well we worked together — competitive, in sync, great communicators, and having so much fun. Looking back, it feels like it was a quiet hint from God.

From that very first game, we weren't just partners on the court, but partners in the making — learning how to support each other, challenge each other, and move through life side by side.

Jake's love was steady, persistent, and certain from the beginning. He made all the first moves — hitting that follow button on Instagram, liking Jenny's stories, hearting her posts, and eventually sliding into her DMs to ask her on their first date (complete with flowers btw). Jenny took a little more time. She had been in relationships with several frogs, so she wasn't so quick to believe she had found her prince.

But Jake fell hard and fast. He couldn't get enough of Jenny and looked for every excuse to see her — so much so, she started to wonder if he even had a job. Between boba runs, late-night drives to Chicago, and movie nights (where he may or may not have slept through most of the film), something began to shift. Through his kindness, his consistency, and the way he so effortlessly stepped into her world, Jenny slowly let her guard down — and somewhere along the way, her heart caught up.

What started as something unexpected quickly became something undeniable: we were made for one another.

On August 3rd, 2024, on the top of a mountain in Colorado, Jake asked Jenny to be his girlfriend.

In a short time, their lives became beautifully intertwined — families coming together, holidays shared, and a love that only grew stronger. Then, on a family trip to Puerto Rico, Jake got down on one knee and asked Jenny to be his forever.

Since then, their love has only deepened — rooted in faith, strengthened by patience, and guided by something greater than themselves: the love of Jesus Christ.

“Love is patient, love is kind… it always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” — 1 Corinthians 13:4–8

After all the paths that led them here, Jenny and Jake know this: they were always meant to find each other.

Jenny is Jake's missing rib.

Genesis 2:21–22 — So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man's ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.

And now, their next journey will take them to Lake Geneva in Wisconsin, where they will say 'I do' and start the rest of their lives together. They could not imagine doing this without all their family and friends by their side, so please come join and celebrate with them!

Matthew 19:5–6 — “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.
